A patent print poster of a 1919 Speed Scout Aeroplane invented by the legendary aircraft designer Glenn Curtiss. The patent was issued by the United States Patent Office on September 16, 1919. Glenn Curtiss was an American aviation pioneer and one of the founders of the U.S. aircraft industry. He began his career as a bicycle racer and builder before moving on to motorcycles. This is a parallel with the Wright Brothers. As early as 1904, Curtiss began to manufacture engines for airships.
